I wouldnt have a problem with this show if they just marketed it for little kids but i guess they think its a "sequel to Clone wars". They add things like Thrawn and Season trailers, things kids dont even know about. It is so obviously exclusively for little kids. Other upcoming series include a live-.(This review may be lengthy but worth the read as to advertise my distaste for this show) How come so many people love this show? I will literally list the countless problems with it below: Biggest issue: They need to stop marketing this show towards adults.
Nothing bad ever really happens to them. They steal stormtrooper armor and everyone falls for it. They make a plan to annoy the empire. Every episode is exactly the same. For Rebels, literally there is nothing to take away from each episode. The animation quality and effects were astounding and you can take away actual lessons and even be willing to watch it again, and again.
Remember in A New Hope, when the empire was menacing and seemed like they were invincible? You won't get that feeling in this show. Stormtroopers Ok, they are idiots. There are a few scenes, such as when Ezra runs towards the stormtroopers with his lightsaber and cuts their guns in half, and they run away.(See 'Stormtroopers' below) Like,what? And there is another scene where chopper picks up a blaster and, instead of shooting a stormtrooper with it, Runs up to him and hits him in the head with it, knocking him out. Sure it was a bit graphic at times but thats what made that show good and a bit dark. In Clone wars, characters died left and right, even if they were main characters or secondary characters.
So basically the entire show has nothing to do with the continuity. (So what on earth are WE watching if the actual stuff isnt even going to be in the show?). Even Leia talked about the Rebellion she started was growing. Rebellion This entire show is supposed to be about how the Rebellion formed, hence the name, But wanna know a secret? It doesn't At the end of the show the "rebellion" they started is defeated. And they keep shooting, even after the discovery that, oh, I don't know, the windows in the building that you've been working at for years are invincible, which they should have known, they DONT. For example: there is a scene where the Rebels throw this pig-midget-thing on the window of the imperial base, which is obviously a distraction, and every person in the room immediately whip out their guns and start shooting the impervious glass, repeatedly.
But honestly this show just sucks. Ok, this lengthy review is finished, for now. He literally does nothing.
